Simple bowls using affordable staples (grains, eggs, beans, veggies)
Breakfast bowls are a flexible way to use leftovers and keep costs low. Adding a small amount of seasoning helps turn basic ingredients into something satisfying - without extra sauces or sugar.

🌿 Why Seasoning Helps Here
Herbs and spices enhance flavour so simple foods feel complete
Spices allow variety without buying new ingredients
Flavour satisfaction supports better consistency with breakfast habits
🧠 Science reference: The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reports that spices and herbs can improve meal satisfaction and help reduce the need for excess salt or added sugars.
🍠 Recipe: Savory Sweet Potato Breakfast Bowl
Ingredients (1 serving):
1 cup roasted sweet potatoes
1 egg (fried or soft-boiled)
Handful of spinach or greens
½ tsp seasoning blend of choice
TIP: cook extra sweet potatoes for a weekend meal and save in containers ready to place in a microwave/air fryer or toaster oven. PRE cook the eggs and leave in your Breadfast Bin (this concept was explained in a previous blog)
How to use: Reheat components, add egg, sprinkle seasoning, eat.
🤝 Seasoning support: If you’re unsure which blends pair best with vegetables or eggs, I’m happy to help guide you — just ask.
